What’s the secret to having superhero-like healing abilities? The human strength expert Kyle Newell has been working out at home. The past few days, he can’t completely bend his right leg and lock it out. Medical checkups show that he has a bucket handle meniscus tear. Tune in to his story, and learn how you too can recover from any kind of joint injury in record time!

A Major Comeback

It all started in 2014. Kyle just competed in a bodybuilding show after a 6-year layoff. He wanted his wife Devin to see him compete, and also use the show as a comeback from his patellar rupture.

In one of the games, however, someone threw him a cross court pass. He jumped right on to get it, but something didn’t feel right. He felt like his leg has been disconnected.

Dealing with a Fracture

Kyle should already be on the ground the time he felt that. Instead, his right knee hit the ground while his left knee was bent 90°. He suffered extreme pain from the snap.

When a tendon comes off the bone, it still sticks. And if the tendon remains intact, the pain is significantly less. That is commonly referred to as avulsion fracture.

Lessons that Everyone Can Learn

Thankfully, Kyle had both patellar tendons. He had surgery four days later, but was already “deadlifting” within 7 weeks after the surgery. Typical timeline should be 18 to 24 months.

From that experience, he learned how to recover in record time. Like Kyle, you may not have thought about getting an injury. But it happens, and you need to get back when it does.

Sometimes people ask, is sleep the cousin of death? This is mainly because there does not seem to be much difference between having a regular sleep and lying on a coffin. Tune in as the human strength expert Kyle Newell discusses both physical and metaphorical aspects of it! He shares some classic insights from his experiences that everyone can also apply.

Time for Everything

It was in 2011 when Kyle and his wife Devin just moved in together. It was also the time when the Newell Strength facility just opened. That year proved to be a major adjustment period to him.

He wanted to spare some time together with Devin. So, he decided to get up by 4AM before training at certain days. He didn’t want both his time for Devin and for work to go in conflict.

From 4AM, however, that eventually turned to 3:30AM until it finally became 2AM. He did not care much if he didn’t get enough sleep. He wanted to make sure everything’s settled with.

Not a Sign of Weakness

Kyle would always hear people say that you should only sleep when you’re dead. He practiced that until his body started breaking down. Consequently, he suffered from severe pneumonia and a ruptured patellar tendon in their first year of marriage.

Later on, a friend told him not to believe guys when they say they don’t sleep. Sleep is not necessarily a sign of weakness.

The Significance of Sleep

Kyle found that most people need at least 6 hours of sleep. Everyone needs sleep to manage energy well.

From what he learned in functional medicine, 10PM to 2AM is when the physical repair of the body takes place. Psychological repair then occurs from 2AM to 6AM. It’s how the human body functions.

On today’s episode, the human strength expert Kyle Newell talks about Tool Boy. for those new to the concept, he is a real person which has morphed into a mythical legend. He represents people that are annoying. Tune in to Beware the Tool Boys in Your Life. Kyle has a fascinating story to tell. Tune in!

The Needy Nice Guy

Until Kyle met his wife Devan, he would go through a lot of girlfriends that were never too serious that would invariably break up with Kyle. They told him he was too nice and Kyle would beat himself up over this.

Kyle thought he needed a girlfriend to feel whole. He was attracting other needy people that need him to fill a void in their lives. When you come from a place of need you find you have more neediness in your life.

Look Inside Yourself

After his last girlfriend broke up with him, he did some internal work. He went to the beach and started writing in his journal about what he thought his perfect partner would be.

Kyle didn’t write about just the physical aspects, he wrote about the emotional and spiritual aspects as well. Kyle then had a coming to Jesus moment in his life. He loved who he was and was not going to change for anyone. He was going to be himself.

Addiction to Attention

Six months later Kyle met that person he had been writing in his journal about. He did not know it was going to be a relationship but he was approaching it from a completely different vantage point.

What does all of this have to do with Tool Boy? Tool Boy represents neediness. It’s all about attention. Tool Boy’s feel a huge void in their life and they need attention. It becomes their drug.

Attention is a drug just like food, weed/drugs, booze or porn. It alleviates a symptom but does not get to the root of the problem. It’s like binge eating. It provides temporary relief. Soon you’re empty again and are looking for something to fill your void.

On today’s episode, the human strength expert Kyle Newell shares insights and tips about marketing and as it relates to everyday life. Tune in to How To Use Marketing Skills In your Everyday Life. Kyle has a fascinating story to tell. Tune in!

Everything is about persuasion in your life. You spend time persuading yourself and others all the time. Once you put marketing into that frame of reference, it’s very easy to see how it can benefit you.

What Marketing Is Not

In 2014, Kyle went to Mexico over the Fourth of July for a nice getaway. Kyle had just competed in his second bodybuilding show of the season a week before.

About half way through the week, they went to a resort where you get a free day’s pas but there was a catch. The resort tried to sell them a timeshare.

To Kyle this was fascinating. They were pros and excellent at what they did. It left Kyle with a bad taste in his mouth because they were so overly aggressive and pushy in their selling technique.

Solutions Need Problems

Marketing is about persuasion and influence. You need to have a solution that solves another’s problem.

For example, Da Vinci was the first person to invent the parachute but there was no interest. The reason there was no interest is because there was no need. There were no planes.

Storytelling

The brain focuses on problems. It’s a survival mechanism. There must be a need for what you are trying to sell and you must be able to communicate your solution.

People love stories. The brain is fascinated by personal stories and is hard-wired to communicate this way.

Kyle is continually influencing his clients through inspiration. He tells little snippets of his life. People love this. It is how Kyle creates a community. A community that is fascinated by his storytelling.

On today’s episode, the human strength expert Kyle Newell shares insights and tips about gaining weight. Tune in to The Secret of How I Gained 30 Pounds of Muscle in One Summer. Kyle has a fascinating story to tell. Tune in!

It Started with a Desire

Kyle was 16 years old in his first summer of lifting. He gained 30 pounds of muscle from end of May to September 1. He was a teenage boy that time, and didn’t know much about hormones.

To become bigger, he ate as much as he could and lifted weights six days a week. He knew more about lifting because he studied a lot about it.

In support to his endeavor, his father bought him a weight gain shake. Each shake was equivalent to about 5,000 calories. Kyle diligently drank it despite its bad taste.

Apart from the shake, he also went to Burger King with his friend for four to five days a week. They’d order the Triple Cheese Burger. He was really obsessed into eating a lot to become bigger.

Focused on Lifting

Kyle was much stronger and bigger compared to other kids in school. The football coach and the basketball coach that time were stunned by his refusal to join their respective teams. He was not into either sports, but was solely into lifting.

Beyond Limits

His eating habit continued in college. Kyle used to believe that he needed to put in more food to have a stronger and bigger body. As years passed, he realized he was wrong.

One time he went to the dining hall with his friends. He decided to eat 8 pieces of the breaded fish that were being served, apart from other food.

Kyle ate until he finished 6 pieces. He already started to sweat, but determined to consume all 8 pieces. Consequently, he vomited his food just as they stepped out of the hall.

He learned a lot from that experience, and wishes to share how far he is willing to go to gain muscles. Now, Kyle trains high school kids at Newell Strength and imparts to them the lessons he learned. According to him, there’s a need to eat past the point where you’re full.
