Guys, I’ve seen the light. I’ve been so blind this whole time. Thanks to our good ole’ buddy, Tool Boy, for setting me straight with all of his melodramatic feels! I just had to share with you all, if you’re doing one-rep max lifts in the gym, STOP IMMEDIATELY! He woke me to the fact that it’s totes dangerous, yo.
Screw the whole, science, facts, and actual deep-level understanding of how your body’s physiology really works, thing. One-rep maxes are going to strain your muscles so hard they’ll pop right off your bones and maybe poke your spotter’s eye out.
If you haven’t caught on yet (but I know you have -- you’re smart enough to listen to this show so you’re quick like that) I’m being more than a little sarcastic.
Today’s show is all about (1) who the hell not to listen to; and, (2) understanding the truth of why people REALLY get hurt in the gym (Hint: It aint due to one-rep max lifts). Knowing this will keep your reps rockin’ and pecks from poppin’.
*Side note* Most millennials are way too soft. My WWII veteran grandpa could still kick any millennial’s ass. Just sayin’ … (03:24)
Well, my friend, there’s a lot of nutritious thought-meat in this episode. I hope you enjoy it and take something away from it that you can use to grow stronger (mentally, physically and emotionally -- especially emotionally, so you’re not the the next Tool Boy waxing dramatic rhetoric on Facebook Live to feed your low self-worth).
Next week is the show’s one-year anniversary. I’ve got some great stuff lined up for you, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. You’ll just have to tune in to see what’s up.
I want to thank you for being a loyal listener. You’re stronger than you know (but you don’t have to prove it by going all out with a one-rep max).
Peace,
Can unlocking your inner strength help to keep your spouse “to thine own love be true”? Most certainly, if you understand the driving reason for why people cheat on their spouses (Hint: it ain’t because the cabana boy is exotic or the milkman is sexier than you). In this podcast I tell you the secret on why people cheat on their spouses and how you can use this knowledge to not only keep her true, but overcome the obstacles that keep you from achieving your goals. (04:40)
One night, while I was pulling “Dad Duty” so Devon could sleep, I saw a truck in the driveway of the house next to us. No big deal, right? Well, this house has been in foreclosure for a while and I know ain’t nobody supposed to be over there. I decided to wake up Devon and we called the cops. I thought about going over to confront who was there and that thought, plus just how out-of-the-ordinary it was, got us both pretty excited.
Reflecting on the experience has shown me some pretty valuable things which I share with you in this episode. The more you know about your brain and how it works, the better you’ll do in life. Just imagine being able to: (02:35)
That night I even discovered a foolproof aphrodisiac that your brain craves like a bee craves a flower. (3:08)
Your eyes have six to seven million cones, each, and most are concentrated around the macula. In nature, a wolf takes down a musk-ox from the rear and the side -- never head-on.
The cones in our eyes help you to see side-advancing threats so you can react. In these moments you have a choice: (06:20)
Fight, Freeze or Run
Understanding these natural reactions can help you prepare and plan for chaos so when it inevitably comes, you can react and adapt to keep your strength journey moving forward.
That’s it for this week! I hope you find the tidbits useful and entertaining. Until next time, keep searching for those keys to unlock your inner strength. You’re stronger than you know.
Peace,
What kind of diet do you have? On today’s episode, the human strength expert Kyle Newell talks about the true story behind keto diets and low carb diets. But before he proceeds any further, he share his answers to 3 question he often receive from people. Tune in!
According to Kyle, there is the idea of believing in self and going for your dreams. But many don't get what they want because they don't take action.
“Only take advice from people who already have what you want.” -Kyle Newell
While he was still teaching, he would encourage his students to follow their dreams. Kyle was glad he did not listen to skeptics.
People ask Kyle how to speak so people will listen. He shares the value of listening first. People will ask you if they want to learn from you. Also, be mindful of how you communicate your thoughts.
Kyle remembers the time when his teacher in Biosignature humiliated him in class. His teacher decided to do a demonstration using him as the subject. It was the same joke that he's been using in his class.
Keto diets is when you force your body to use ketones instead of glucose. It requires you to have a very low level of carbohydrates daily.
It has many health benefits. Some use it to control severe seizure in children. But Kyle uses something differently. Make sure to tune in!

Why do you quit on the things you don't want to quit on? The human strength expert Kyle Newell talks about the popular topic of burnout. Tune in for some classic insights, so that you too may also discover why you quit!
According to Kyle, there is a need to leverage time and realize that chaos happens. It won't derail you completely if you plan for it.
“There is a time and place to quit when you know that what you are doing is completely up the wrong path.” -Kyle Newell
In the time intensity curve, the vertical line reflects the amount of intensity. The horizontal line, on the other hand, reflects time.
People become very intense when they try to make a difference in their lives or when they try to transform. But the intensity eventually fades away. The brain simply cannot pursue anything that is based on willpower.
Underneath the short period when intensity starts to die, there is what Kyle calls uninformed optimism. You think that things will work because of your will power.
“The only way that you cannot succeed with whatever it is that you want to do in your life, is if you quit.” -Kyle Newell
On the other hand is informed pessimism. It is when you realize that things will be difficult because of the process it requires.
Kyle writes about 2,400 words every day. He does it just within 40 minutes.
“It's an amazing to most people in life when you just consistently show up.” -Kyle Newell
Many tend to quit long before they even try to master things. You may have heard of the 10,000-hour rule. It requires focus, an intense area of study, and application.
